Accepted to USC Only 168 3.39...good enough?
With a 168 and 3.39 USC is the best school I was admitted to, with a 10k/year scholly.
My question as that I feel as if I didn't deserve to get into USC, and that the students there all either have at least a higher LSAT or a higher GPA. I would have felt more comfortable being admitted and enrolling as a student with say a 170/3.39 or a 168/3.69, but I feel my numbers will be in a way inferior to the rest of the class. This is not a flame, I'm just wondering if whether I deserve to attend a school as good as USC. Do people with below 25% numbers feel proud to attend their reach schools?

so if you had bubbled 2 more questions correctly on the LSAT you'd feel better about your chances of success at USC?Dreamcast11 wrote:With a 168 and 3.39 USC is the best school I was admitted to, with a 10k/year scholly.

Numbers dont really mean anything. For the most part a GPA shows how much you cared in UG, the lsat is how well you reason (you have pretty good reasoning abilities) and the difference between your score and a 170+ is pretty freaking minimal if you think about it. Are you really worried about this? Get over it, have some self confidence (you should, you did well on the LSAT and got into a great school). Now all that matters is how well you do in class. So buckle down, crack open a book, and prove you were meant to go there.

I'd be more worried about the $180,000 worth of debt you are about to take out than how you stack up against your classmates.

Thanks for that post, truly appreciated.
It's just tough when I see the LSN charts with virtually no one accepted in my range, and all of the sudden 2 more points on my LSAT could have gotten me into UVA ED or something, which would make me more comfortable attending USC because I could have gone somewhere better.

Yep, after what money I have saved up and undergrad loans I will graduate with $180K in debt. Really hoping for biglaw...or magically making money setting up a shingle.

Absolutely. Why not? We're going to awesome schools. We should be proud that we beat the odds. Plus, everyone will think we had a higher LSAT or GPA than we really did if we attend our reach schools.Dreamcast11 wrote: Do people with below 25% numbers feel proud to attend their reach schools?
As for the strength of our classmates who have better numbers, LSAT/GPA account for a minority of the variance in law school GPA's. Your success in law school is due mainly to factors other than LSAT/GPA.

You have a choice to be neurotic about it, or proud that you made yourself stand out. Do yourself a favor. If you had gotten a couple points higher, you'd have the same anxiety about something else.

I'm attending USC with almost the same numbers. I'm not worrying about it too much - I know my GPA would have been better under different circumstances and isn't a true reflection of my intelligence. Plus, our LSAT is above the 50%.
Don't worry about it - just focus on school once you get there and try to push these doubts out of your head. You wouldn't be attending this school if the admissions council didn't think you could handle it.

Maybe your acceptance was from the other USC.

Yes...and being proud probably understates how good it feels.Dreamcast11 wrote:Do people with below 25% numbers feel proud to attend their reach schools?
