Why is TLS naturally self-selective of top law applicants?

So I was looking at other threads and someone mentioned that TLS users are not representative of the average law school applicant or the average law student. As a matter of fact, TLS is self-selective of the higher end of the law school applicants and students. This is supported by the prevalence of 170+ LSAT scorers or high 160 LSAT scorers that post on here AND the users that allegedly had dedicated and successful studying habits.
What makes TLS so fond that it naturally attracts the top spectrum of law school applicants and students?

because we actively disparage applicants who cannot gain acceptance to the top schools

Obnoxious strivers tend to both score 170+ and do more research.

I think the life blood of the website is that it provides excellent LSAT advice for free. The mindset is to score 170+ which is not the focus of most of the test prep you'll find in LSAT classes, books, and other websites. I can't speak for everyone, but I found TLS when I started googling info on the LSAT.
Also, it provides you with a group of peers who have the same set of goals. I went to an unimpressive state school. There weren't too many kids gunning for high LSAT scores or debating the pros and cons of the best schools. It's like sitting with the other nerds during lunch.

The forum is designed for top law school applicants (and, increasingly, top performers at top law schools) and the culture reenforces that. Further, those that are more driven are more likely to spend time in forums discussing law school applications, etc. Finally, those with strong credentials are more likely to sign up and post rather than lurk.

Both of these premises are false. TLS its fair share of dedicated applicants and high LSAT scorers but it also has a ton of morons and liars as well. Perhaps more of the former, but definitely enough of the latter to make your premises and conclusion questionable.

Perhaps, but you are using your real, outside life knowledge. Everything stated in the stimulus by the author is presumed to be valid, even if it is not true.
