Top Law Schools

Is it just me, or are there (already) way too many splitters this upcoming cycle? This is just a selection of posts made since May 31st:

Do you have any evidence that this is any different from any other cycle?

No, I don't. That's why I said 'is it just me'. It SEEMS like a lot of splitters to post in 3 weeks, but maybe this always happens.

Also, it's not just that there are a lot of splitters, but a lot of splitters with VERY similar numbers, all posting in the last 3 weeks. I assume by the end of the month, once the June LSAT scores come out, this will at least double.

"Way too many splitters this upcoming cycle" compared to what? For your observations to be meaningful, one has to compare among several years, and, if possible, "standarize" each year to the total number of applicants reporting their numbers on TLS since traffic flow may have changed.

Splitters need more advice than most people do, because they gaming the system in some respects.

3.6/170 doesn't need any advice. Apply and see what sticks.

Why is everyone responding to this as if I didn't present it as a question? There is a big difference between me saying "Way too many splitters this upcoming cycle" and

Looking at LSN for the past 3 years it looks like the number of splitters compared to the total number of applicants doesn't change drastically.

I doubt it would be any different this year. There might be more threads this year but that is random chance and doesn't mean there are more splitter applications.

I took it to mean that you believe that there are "way too many splitters this upcoming cycle," and you were asking for our opinions about your belief. IMO, it is impossible to know with the data you presented in your original post.

I'm not reading any actual content in this thread, because "Year of the Splitter" is such a great movie title.

2) Of everyone, those who are splitters have the most reason to ask, "what are my chances." Really they are the only ones who have a good reason to be asking.
