Do I need to explain what this means on my application?

Post by JustSomebody » Tue Jun 21, 2011 11:14 am

I was in my college's honors program, so I had to pick one class per semester and take it for "honors credit," which usually meant I did additional work for the class in the form of an extra paper or something. On my transcript, the classes that I took for honors credit have an "H" next to the letter grade I received. In other words, all the normal classes just have the letter grade, but an honors one would say "AH" as my grade.

Weirdly enough, nowhere on my transcript does it say what the H actually means. On my resume I say that I am in the honors program and everything, but do I have to write some kind of addendum saying what the H actually means on my transcript? I have no idea if this is a common, standard thing that all universities do on the transcript or if it is unique to my school.
