Can Residency Affect Adcomms in Private Law Schools?

Title basically says it all...
For example, can being a North Carolina resident make the chance of admission at Duke better or worse? Or does it not matter?

Residency doesn't matter at all. Being from the area helps you avoid Yield Protection though.

Yes. Most high profile private schools like to have geographic diversity.
In the case of Duke, you would probably need higher numbers than the average candidate if you are from North Carolina, as a lot people from NC would likely apply.

Yes but the effect is pretty small. Not in the sense that being from NC would help you get into Duke, more like being from Alaska or some other underrepresented state might help because law schools want geographic diversity in their classes.
tbh it doesnt really make much of a difference for private schools. With publics, well it really depends on the state and the school.
