or other law forums, especially JDU?

For the past several months, I've spent at least an hour a day reading the forums here. Everything from legal employment to being 200k in debt. I want to be a lawyer, but everytime I think about it, I think about the comments on these forums. I'm not going to lie, sometimes after reading the comments on these threads (the realistic ones, not the sarcastic troll ones), I find it hard to sleep knowing what my future lies ahead of me if I don't make it into a T-14 or if I don't make it in the top 5-20% of my class.

I honestly believe when you read the desperate threads, especially on the JDU, that talk about how one has spent 200k and is unemployed and struggling in life, you CAN get suicidal thoughts if you wonder too much about "What if that happens to me in the future?" I really do get sad when I read these threads and forums.

Am I spending way too much time on here? :(

Is that a yes as in I'm spending too much time on TLS and I'm just being overreactive? Or yes as in you too have been driven to periodic moods of depression? :(

You have to remember that sites like TLS and JDU are very self selecting and you often hear the same things over and over (which doesn't neccessarily make them true). That's why practically everyone on here has a 170 and is going to a T14 and yet that's really something like 5% of all law students. Same with JDU in regards to their doom and gloom. Yes, a lot of it is true, but at the same time many (more like most) of the ppl that find law jobs and/or enjoy their careers don't waste their time posting on sites like JDU. PPL are more inclined to rant when they have time on their hands and have an ax to grind. PPL just don't sign on to say how awesome their work is because they're busy, you know, working and all lol. I know what you're saying because sometimes I get bummed out about stuff on here or the news or whatever but you just have to take a step back and remember that ppl do succeed in this profession. You just can't be ignornant to the realities and potential pitfalls of this profession, which because you frequent TLS and JDU, I doubt you are.

If you have to go to a shitty school, just make sure you are not paying sticker, and you should be okay.
