Top Law Schools

In your opinion, which states' legal markets are the most insular? If I had to guess, I would go with Louisiana due to the whole Louisiana Civil Law Code. Am I way off here? Are there any other states that I am leaving off the map?

I think Hawaii is the only insular state that I know of.

What do you mean by insular? Pretty much all of them other than the couple notable exceptions are going to be skeptical of employing people without ties.

Yeah, but I have heard some are more notorious than others. I've read South Carolina is extremely insular. You pretty much have to go to the Univ. of South Carolina to get a job (I'm not sure about Charleston). I was just curious if any other states were like this.

Over 75% of BAR members are usc law school alum, and it's very much a good old boys club from what I've heard. Only other school is Charleston SOL. No reciprocity with any other states.

Alabama seems pretty bad. Birmingham firms go to law schools outside of Alabama to hire people, but they only want to hire people from Alabama.

Bham's not that bad. You'll get an offer if you have good grades. Can't say the same about SC.
