I think that the second opportunity, from a purely law school applications perspective, seems like the better choice. Putting Fulbright winner would be a cool thing, but if you don't actually go, it's not really a boost.

Can you defer one of these opportunities? I know that Fulbrights don't usually grant deferrals but if the other program will, do it. There is no rush to get to law school.

I am not sure that one will really help more than the other. Both give you more experience than someone applying straight from college, but still, there are plenty of applicants that have experience working with a legal organization or working abroad. Choose the one you think you will like more. The best thing you can do admissions-wise is ace the LSAT.

I assume the unnamed opportunity is only happenning next year. Do you think you would have strong odds if you reapplied for the Fulbright afterwards?

Fulbright is a soft that actually means something and will stay on your resume for the rest of your life. Do it, and congrats!

thanks to everyone for their advice. I basically wanted to get a sense if one particularly shouted "awesome" more than the other but I think ultimately it seems like neither is going to be obviously better soft...i guess i'll just have to figure this out the hard way...which'll be a better life experience.
