Question about distance learning - Resolved :)

Just summarizing for those searching this in the future and don't want to read the wall of text I just did to get this info:
1) Taking easy distance learning courses at a community college courses shouldn't look bad if your transcript can otherwise prove that you're capable of more academic rigor, so go for the GPA bump.
2) A lot of online courses don't actually show up as online on your transcript, double check to be sure.
3) These only apply to online courses offered by accredited brick and mortar schools. Not sure about University of Phoenix and other things with creepy 1800 number commercials.
