Is there an unwritten GPA cutoff for YHS? My GPA is 3.59 and I'm wondering if CCN is the ceiling for me, regardless of LSAT performance. I've checked out Law School Numbers and it doesn't look promising, but I didn't know if anyone had any anecdotal first-hand knowledge of non-URM folks gaining admission with a similar GPA and outstanding LSAT score.

Unless you are a URM, have something amazing in your profile, or have a building named after you, than CCN is your wall.

To compensate for a ~3.6 at YHS, you need a 175+ and something really, really stellar on your resume (and almost everyone at YHS has a stellar resume). I heard that in 2012 the Secretary of State position will open up. Apply for that and retake, FTW.

I'm not sure how much can be inferred from this, but I was curious. If you set your LSAT score to 180 on LSP, and then mess around with GPAs, the GPAs at which the top three become 'Admit' decisions are:

Yale: 3.82
Harvard: 3.76
Stanford: 3.54

The GPAs at which they become 'Strong Consider' decisions are:

Yale: 3.53
Harvard: 3.43
Stanford: 3.43

LSP doesn't really work well for any of these, particularly Y or S. For non-URM, I believe 3.8 is effectively the S minimum (Y as well, but they appear to have made some isolated exceptions). H is easier with a lower GPA and very high LSAT due to their larger size, but below 3.7 it doesn't look good either, regardless of LSAT.

Yes, LSP is not good for splitters - it does not recognize that schools have GPA floors. I think Stanford and Yale are out. Maybe a chance at Harvard if you score in the high 170s or 180. I got into Harvard with a 3.62/179. (I went to Harvard for undergrad though - that may have helped.) I saw on LSN that last year someone got in off the waitlist with a 3.4/179.
