Retaking the LSAT to get off a waitlist

I'm on the waitlist at a couple of my top choices and was wondering what impact, if any, retaking the LSAT in June could have on my chances of getting off the waitlist and into the school. By the time scores come out it would be July and I'm guessing I would have to get pretty lucky for a spot to even open up, which is why I feel like I may just be wasting my time by retaking. Has anyone heard of this strategy working to get someone off a waitlist so late into the cycle?
My other options are a couple of really good schools that I like so I would rather not retake and wait a year when I already got in at those.

Curious about this as well.

I would call the admissions office of each school who waitlisted you and ask.
Edit: I did this, and they didn't bite my head off.

I've thought about it. It seems too risky to me. For one, you likely haven't touched your study materials since your last LSAT which if you're like me was in October, or maybe December. If you go down than you not only didn't help your case, but shot yourself in the foot for potentially withdrawing and re-applying next cycle. If you're confident you can go up (or go up a large amount) it might be worth a shot though. Just keep in mind they might not even be looking for new scores or might not be willing to consider them.

Yeah, each school has their own policy on taking June LSAT scores for fall admission/scholarship. You'll just have to contact the admissions office and see.

Well, I've decided not to risk law school aside from HYSCCN, so if I shoot myself in the foot by scoring lower, I won't be worse off than not retaking.
Is it proper form to call schools to ask them one's chances of making it off the waitlist? Thanks!

What did they say in terms of how it would affect your chances of getting off the WL?

They said they will "Take it into consideration". That's all I could tell you.
