You should no their alcohol preferences better than us. I went with bottles that reminded me of a person: 1) A large Belgian beer with a picture of a buggy whip on it (buggy whips and beer make frequent appearances in into econ classes) 2) A bottle of mead called Viking's Blood (in Norwegian) for a professor that did a literature seminar in which we read Egil's Saga and 3) A bottle of reisling with a picture of a Castle on the inside that was magnified by the wine for a supervisor that works in a building that looks like a damn castle.

If you can come up with any kind of story about why it reminded you of the person it will be a fine gift.

I just got each person a coffee mug and pen with the law school name on it. I don't know, professors love coffee. And writing things. And if they don't drink coffee, they can use it for tea. And if they don't drink tea they can drink water. Can't really go wrong there.

Alcohol seems like a trickier gift.
