T14 are schools that have been ranked in the top 10. Texas has been ranked in #11 before in 1987. For reference go to

Stop citing wikipedia for your definition of the T14. IT'S WRONG.

The 1987 rankings cannot be effectively compared to the current rankings since they included only about 50 schools or so. Hence it is possible that some school ranked lower than 50 could have had a higher subcategory score than UT, leading to dilution of UT's overall rank.

Doesn't change a thing. Top14=/=Schools that are in the top 14 spots.

So if Georgetown drops to 20, is it still considered a top 14?

Right. I think the "definition" of the t14 people are spouting is more of an observation of the schools that are consistently in the t14 rather than essential to the classification.

i'm glad you made this thread because nothing is more important than whether a school is "t14" or not
