Top Law Schools

Say you have a normal 1st semester class schedule of Civ Pro, Torts, Crim Law, etc etc

If you're lined up to attend school X and you buy their books in July but then you get off the waitlist of school Y and decide to attend there instead, would one be able to use the same books?

I've done a little prior research on law school texts, and I know there are texts that are recommended for a specific class and whatnot, but do schools actually have different book lists, however subtle, or is it largely the same for 1L classes?

could this be b/c certain professors are authors/editors of the books they prefer their section to use? or possibly b/c they teach the class slightly differently than a different section?

Also, when do law schools typically release their book list for incoming 1Ls? If the books differ by section and sections often aren't decided until late in the summer, does that typically mean that the lists don't come out until very late in the summer, maybe even august?

Every professor's different. There is more than one leading textbook on just about every subject.
