Work Experience advantageous over youth?

I'm 24 years old and I have a bachelors from a top tier and a masters from an Ivy, but I haven't been able to really find decent work at all. A friend of mine who is an associate at a law firm says that they've turned away applicants in their mid and even early 30s for associate positions because they were too old. So here's my question: would it be more advantageous to try my luck with law school admissions now so I graduate at a younger age, or try and get a few years professional work experience to see if will help me get into a better law school? Thanks so much for your time and input.
P.S. (I have a 3.33 GPA and a masters with 3.88 and have not yet taken the LSAT, if that weighs into anyone's answer).

Useless until you take the LSAT but I don't think age hurts but being in your mid 30's after graduating law school might hurt a bit.

Nothing like contradicting yourself in the same sentence.
