i did very very well this last semester. should i send an email notifying schools that i haven't heard back from yet that an awesome updated transcript is on the way?

What is the amazing change? If you were a 3.65 and now you are 3.66, I guess anything up, helps, but at this point in the cycle--and with seat deposits coming up-- you risk dragging this out.
However, if we are talking 3.4 to 3.55 or something, especially taking into account a school's 25-median-75, it could be the difference in decision, and even scholarship.

And not to criticize you, but when did grades come out? My answer to your question would have been, definitely update, a few months ago.

i think the change would be about .04. and there were some circumstances that prevented the grades from being ready yet.
