Generally how long does it take to hear back from schools?

Post by logicgamesbrah » Sat Feb 26, 2011 5:39 pm

I applied to 8 schools all on the same day about three weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet. I'm wondering what the average wait time is to hear?

Depends on your numbers, and the pace with which the schools move. As a general rule, there is no reason to expect anything in under a month. After that the decisions should start to trickle in. At this point, just check your status checkers to make sure they have all the materials needed to review your application. Most should start to go "complete", and then into "review." Though some schools are more ambiguous.

I submitted apps in November and still haven't heard from quite a few schools. With seat deposits coming up, I'm beginning to get frustrated. Is it possible that some schools might not get back to me until after I deposit at another school?

Could take a few months to more than half a year.
