Deferral Request Deadline

Does anyone know when is the last time you can request deferral? Is it the seat deposit deadline, or could you request it after? If you request it after, do you think schools will generally want a commitment that you will not apply anywhere else the next cycle?

It varies by school. For example, Columbia's Deferral Request deadline is June 1, 2011 and that can be found on their website
http://www.law.columbia.edu/jd_applican ... rtantdates. Northwestern on the other hand doesn't have a deadline, you just need to send in your deposit and then contact the admissions office by mail or fax to request a deferral.
Just search on your schools website to find their process and if you cannot find it call/write and ask.
