I know that if you are accepted ED by a school, you are bound to attend that school. If you back out, you're not allowed to matriculate at another law school.

If I were to back out of an ED contract and decide to attend a Canadian school, can they do anything to stop me from doing so? I know American schools will honor the ED contracts of their schools, but so far I haven't been able to find a case of an applicant backing out of ED and attending a Canadian (or other foreign) school.
Aren't Canadian schools still members of LSAC? If so, I think it probably won't be possible.

That being said, if you really are unsure, ask the schools about their policy on this. Either way, you probably shouldn't have ED'ed.

A way to "back out" of ED would be to forgo matriculating anywhere this fall altogether.

I haven't applied this year, but probably will in 2012.
Then if you are considering backing out of an ED contract the obvious thing to do is not to sign the ED contract.
