If i take a year off from UG to retake the LSAT, (let's say i jump 5 points or so).... what types of activities should i get involved in to make it appear that i did not just sit around and waste my time?

Would a job or volunteer work be better?
If volunteer....... how many hours should i try to obtain in the 6ish months before i send out my applications to make me look 'good'?

Get a job, preferably in a law-related field. Do some part time volunteering on the side if you wish.

Do you mean take a year off DURING ug or a year off AFTER ug?

Either way get a job ya bum. How do expect to live for a year with no income?

haha i do have a job now but it is not 'law-related' ... would it be better to just continue where i am at now or specifically look for something in the field of law?.. even if it is mundane work (i dont mind either way)

How do you take a year off during ug? The fact that you are a full-time student means that you are not "off"

A job makes it more clear that you have your life together. If you want to play up the public service angle, seek out a non-profit job for any pay.

I also worked during undergrad and had enough money saved up to be in a financial position to take the time off. So far, I think it was a wise decision. Do something cool the summer before. Travel, work at the beach, or whatever makes you happy.
Yeah... I took a year off. Relax. NO one will judge you. You don't need a full time job - just do something that interests you to keep you active (I'm back home and live off the padres until law school so I can take my cash and travel during the summer). I needed the time for apps..worked out!
