I was wondering if anyone has any insight regarding age and law school admittance? is there an age range where a potential applicant should wait? Right now i am 21 and i am wondering if i should take time off to build experience and reapply later in the future, or if 21 is an acceptable age? any help would be amazing!! thanks!

Seeing how the largest demographic in most law schools is either straight out of undergrad or 1 0r 2 years off, I'd say your fine.

I'm glad this thread wasn't as disturbing as its title indicated.

21 is "acceptable" but a year off in the "real" world isn't that bad of an idea.

For ages 16-30: Divide by 2, and then add 7.

to the op: i'd take some time off man. this year off has been the best time of my life. i worked hard in UG and now am relishing in the benefits of finding a good job and just going out once i get off work without much worry. it's a lot of fun to make money and spend it on something trifling.
to everyone else: 18. lol no matter your age. 18. i ain't going to jail over something trifling.

Well Doogie Howser went to Med School at 10, so I'd say maybe 8 or 9.

I don't think you have to wait that long. As I've always said, if they can crawl, they can ball.

I love some of the responses in this thread, I'm getting a good laugh. I like divide by two and add seven. I think that is a safe rule for all parties. Now for a serious response...
I think it completely depends on the person. When I graduated from college I was ready to work, and tired of being in the classroom. I still knew that I wanted to attend law school, but I also knew experience would be extremely valuable. I'm 26 now, with 3 solid years of legal experience, and I am craving the opportunity to go to school. I feel motivated to be in a classroom, and motivated to spend all necessary hours studying. I think I would have struggled with law school if I went right after undergrad, but that was just my personality. I'd say if you are wanting more school and have the drive to continue your education, go for it! If you are at all like I was, and feeling a little burned out, I'd take the work experience. One thing to keep in mind is that when I graduate law school, I immediately have legal/office experience, and that would put me ahead of anyone with similar law school numbers without the experience. It's easy to undervalue experience when you have none, I know I certainly did, but now I don't think it van be valued enough.

I think a year getting kicked in the teeth by the real world will make you work harder in law school. I certainly would be doing worse without WE.
But if you already have a very strong work ethic, it's probably fine to go to school right away.
