Gotten back to me yet?
I am 100% sure I will not be attending this school, so I feel pretty safe about withdrawing.

Dear Sir or Madam:

Thank you so much for taking the time to review my application for the class of 2014. At this time, however, I must respectfully withdraw my application because I will be accepting an offer elsewhere.

Wishing you all the best,

You can optionally say what school you're attending. Schools sometimes like to hear where you picked.

Also, you're really 100% sure? There's no penalty for withdrawing at a later date, and you might get in with a scholarship. That scholarship is potentially leverage for one at another school. I'd wait until you hear back.

Thanks. This school was actually one I applied to as a quasi safety before retaking in December. I have already gotten into a school I'd rather go to at a full scholarship, among others, so I know I definitely will not be attending.

Is there actually a reason to take time to craft a well-written withdrawal letter?

It's a good practice to exude professionalism and courtesy in every interaction, regardless of whether you have anything to gain from that interaction. While this doesn't require substantial time, it does take more than an off-the-cuff "Hey thanks, but no thanks. I got into somewhere better."

I think the draft version in the original post is very well done.

I mean, what's the problem with telling them that you've accepted an offer elsewhere? I think it looks fine, OP.
