Adding before it goes complete

I am suffering the misfortune of having my LSAC report delayed. The application, together with my PS, CV, etc, has been received at my top choices, but I did not include supplemental essays, because I wanted to get the apps out sooner. I know that sending extra essays after the app is received is often useless, but does this also apply if the app is not yet complete? If I finish/send a DS over the weekend, can I assume it will be added and reviewed along with the rest of the application once it goes complete?
