No positive effect.

It can have a negative effect.

Why a negative effect? I've heard they don't want younger students, but I'm already 2 years removed and I'm not applying until next cycle
Oh 2 years removed. Then it won't have any effect.

No effect, though did you do anything extracurricular-wise (lead a club or organization, volunteer) while in school?

It'll be no big deal.

As long as you weren't just a bookworm for those 3 years (as you show you weren't from the above), I do not think it will hurt or harm you. You will probably be on a level playing field with everyone else you apply with.

I wasn't really a bookworm at all, Summer courses were cheaper at my UG and when you're enrolled as a full-time student you can take up to 20 credits without paying extra, so I figured I should get the most bang for my buck. In hind sight it was a pretty dumb decision, I'm pretty jealous of all my friends who are all on the 5/6 year path
Yeah my motto was always "Why rush it." I had a great time in undergrad and I only took 12 credits a semester (minimum to be full-time), and I finished in four years. I was a science major, too. Also, I never took summer classes. But, I did take LOTS of community college credits in HS and AP courses.

I think that being a little less rushed is the way to go because I had time to write a thesis, publish, be a part of organizations, and hold a great internship and work. But, at this point make sure you focus on the positive stuff in your application and appear confident. Taking 20 credits each semester is serious business and requires a lot of hard work.
