Top Law Schools

I have a 3.0 in a difficuly major and a high ranking private college and have gotten high 160's/170 on my LSATs. I have a strong resume (including Teach for America, Study Abroad, several internships and work experience). Also, I have/can get very strong letters of recommendation. I was just wondering if these are decent stats. I know my GPA is no where near being as high as it needs to be for the competitive schools. Any advice would be much appreciated.

What is you actual score?

A 3.0 will hurt you at schools with GPA floors. (UT) But isn't impossible to overcome (Northwestern) with a great LSAT.
I'd work on that GPA stat!

once you get your actual score, check out lawschool predictor, law school numbers, and from the lsac's own website teh link on choosing a law school based on your gpa and lsat score. That will help give you a decent start as to what your chances are. Better yet, find out what each school that you are interested in has for medians, and see how your scores and gpa compares to them.

I am simply going off of my score of 164. I know thats a decent score but my GPA is a good .3 or .5 point from what the median for the schools I am interested in.

IF you were getting in the 170s on your prep tests in test like conditions ( 34 min sections, 15 min break after section 3, no checking answers/ seeing how you did until after the test, etc) then you should consider a re take. Especially if you were consistently scoring in the 170s.

Will law schools consider my major GPA or is it always the cumulative?

I am positive I can get a decent score on my LSATs but is it even worth applying to schools if i can only improve my gpa by .1 or .2?
