I'll go with a definitive "maybe."

I thought Yale's admissions process wasn't technically as rolling as the others...from what I have read and heard a late application at Yale won't hurt you in the way it might at many of the other schools.

That's correct. According to Asha (admissions dean), Yale is the one school where it doesn't matter when you apply. Of course, I'm guessing if you applied on February 15, you might look like a lazy procrastinator. But applying in January ought to be fine.
Actually, I've considered applying soon too, but just can't decide if it's worth it with my numbers. Maybe if it weren't for that pesky 250-word essay.....

You've got the GPA though! ...can we combine numbers to make one awesome candidate?
Jk, jk. But seriously, your numbers at least put you in the "consider" boat according to LSP... mine give me a flat-out "deny." It's worth a shot, if you can figure out the 250 thing! But I understand the feeling... Yale does love their trapeze artists and presidential speechwriters...
