GPA Addendum Help

My GPA is not the best and I wanted to explain my justifications for it to the Admission Boards. I am wanting any help you all can provide me.
Thanks!
GPA Addendum
Upon review of my Academic Summary Report it is noted I received Academic Honors from 2005-2008. After the spring of 2008 my grades deteriorated. On February 21, 2008 my oldest brother and his girlfriend gave birth to my niece, "M". My older brother spent a significant time in and out of the Kansas State Penitentiary and was incapable of caring for my niece. My disabled mother, whom I was already financially responsible for, took "M" in and is raising her. My brother's irresponsibility and my mother's caring demeanor cause my financial responsibilities to almost double. Working 80-100 hour work-weeks to provide for my mother and niece caused difficulties in maintaining Academic Honors caliber grades. I should admit, although I am regretful for having to write an addendum to explain my GPA, I do not regret the actions I took to ensure my niece was not raised in the same conditions I was as a child.
Recently, my youngest brother and my mother's significant other have assisted with the costs associated with raising my niece. I have also set aside funds in savings to help her with any emergency costs in the future. Being relieved of providing financial assistance to my mother and niece has afforded me the ability to attend law school.
Thanks!
