What's the TLS consensus?

"Better" is a relative term, and there is no correct answer.

TLS is going to fight you.

Argument goes back forth a lot here on TLS, even when you simplify "better" to mean "better job prospects."

I've always felt like it's UVa. However, there aren't many Duke students here on TLS so it is hard to get an accurate feeling for how things are at Duke compared to the flood of UVa students we have. So I could easily be wrong.

Oh hell no, not this again. I really don't want to have to get into this. They are both good, don't make me fight this battle. I am too tired.

Please let there just be 5 or six "no correct answer", "they are both good", or "it depends on you" responses and then let the thread sink into obscurity. Please. For all our sakes.

Clearly Bosque goes to Duke and is just jelly that UVA is superior in nearly all respects (rankings and otherwise).

I know y'all are just trying to rupture the blood vessel above my right temple. It's not going to work. Better men have tried before and failed.

As for lay prestige, I would say Duke is more respected.

As for what has a better law school, I would say that UVA is considered to have a better one in USNWR terms.

As for how much you're job chances will be affected if you choose one over the other, I would say...you will have a good chance at either one to get a good job. Relax. Just count yourself lucky if you get into them, or any other T14 for that matter.

Whichever one gives you more money. Which is not to be taken lightly if you can leverage the other for even more money.
