Hi all,

I need help making a decision within a couple of hours and need your advice.

I recently submitted my application to Northwestern and received an email indicating that my interview of dec 2009 was no longer on record and if they should either go ahead with the review of my application or wait until I come to Chicago for an interview (i live in NYC). The dates available for an on-campus interview are all in February. Please advice on what I should do.

whats better- submit application now, with no interview (could submit an addendum explaining what happened)
or put my application on hold and take my butt to Chicago in February to interview.

What was the decision of your 2009 application?

If you are a borderline candidate I would strongly suggest you interview if you are able. If not, submit the addendum with your application as soon as possible - I'm not sure how fast seats fill up but February seems late and it may be even more competitive if there are few seats left in the class.

I did not apply in 2009 because I decided to wait a year. thanks for your advice

The interview. I don't think they are going to render a worse decision just because your file went on hold for the interview date. You're still getting it in and complete otherwise long before that date.

Interview. No doubt about it.

I have to go interview with these guys soon, and I have to admit, I'm worried it is going to be intense. Do they go all Abu Gharib on you? Or is it more of a wine and dine the candidate type of affair?
