I'm hoping that I qualify for the LSAC fee waiver for next year's cycle. It looks like my expected income will be between $10,000-$15,000 (don't want to put a specific number in case anyone is watching

). My questions are for those who received the waiver:
1. What (roughly) was your income?
2. How many people were in your family?
3. Did you use your parents info?
I think this information will help those of us who are going to apply to see if we have a realistic chance at receiving it. If anyone wants to look at the requirements from LSAC again, here's the link:

Thanks for the help!
I got the waiver 2 years ago. It asked for everything I made from the year before which was under 10K, I live alone so my family consists of just me, and I did not use my parents info.
edit: spelling

If you're claimed as a dependent on your parents' taxes then you have to use their info, which might push you over the limits

I got the waiver after I appealed it. Most people get denied but 40% who appeal get the waiver. I made 13k last year and I did have use my parents info even though they do not claim me. My dad had no income last year but had a couple hundred dollars in his savings account and the reason they denied me was because I had money in my bank account and he had a couple hundred dollars. I wrote an essay and explained that I support myself and they money in my account was to pay my bills and summer school my dad had no job or income and I submitted the first page of my tax return and his. Hope this helps! If you get denied definitely appeal it! Doesn't hurt. It took about 2 1/2 weeks for my appeal to come through so do it early.
*Savings is definitely calculated!*
*They can ask you to submit info*

TIKITEMBO wrote:Okay, so that's one there for 1 person making less than $10,000. Did you have any savings that they calculated as well? I have heard that stops people from receiving the waiver sometimes...
I had no savings at all

I got the waiver. Made slightly less than $15k, listed as independent. No savings or anything. Approved right away.
