PS spelling mistake.

Post by blackswan » Sat Dec 25, 2010 4:32 am

I found a spelling mistake on my Personal Statement.
Mistake was the school name. Could be deadly. :(
I sent out my application on 12/23/10 and under Report Status, the report hasn't been generated. What does that mean? Application hasn't sent out to the school? Is there a way I can cancel and resubmit?

It's not too late so, call the admission office the first thing on Monday ask if I could send substitute page?

Don't worry about it.

It will either ruin your application or it won't. Or they'll care about it or they might overlook it.

It's Berkeley. I spelled Berkley.

Something like that would scare the shit out of me. There's no way they would not notice.
I agree. There's no way they would not notice.

The office is closed for the winter break till January 02; other than sending an email, there is not much I can do.
I freaked out at first, but I am trying to hold my sanity and write the politest e-mail request ever. :P

Don't worry. Just email them and say you found an error in your PS and to use the one you are attaching in the new email. I had to do this for 3 applications. Protip: Don't forget the attachment when you are sending the email to fix the original problem. (I did on one of them :x  ). I still got into all 3 schools, so I wouldn't even worry.
