Question
How important is it to target your application to a specific school if you have a pretty strong application otherwise? I'm talking University of Ct and below schools. For schools above that, if you don't have the numbers, would you say that you should target your PS to it and add a why x essay if they ask?

Re: Question
It isn't really that important at all for most schools. A few care -- UVA and Stanford come to mind -- but it won't really overcome weak numbers. That said, it certainly will not hurt your applications and will make you look less like a candidate for yield protections if you are substantially above the medians.
This is my favorite probability calculator: http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/wp-co ... ograms.htm You should be applying mostly to schools that say "consider" or "strong consider" with a few reaches as well. I don't see the point in safeties unless you really want to go to the school since you can always re take the LSAT.
