Would it be okay for me to put in volunteer positions on applications that ask for employment history?
One of the schools I am applying to asked for employment positions post graduation, and I have no job as of now but I do volunteer.

I don't think so. You can make that clear in your resume though-- be sure the volunteer activity is dated.
