Boalt Fee Waiver

I was surprised to receive a fee waiver from Berkeley today. Although I am 100% certain it is because of the color of my skin, does this mean I have a glimmer of a chance at getting accepted there with my 153 LSAT and 3.0 GPA? Or do they love dinging people so much that they are willing to do it at the expense of getting my hopes up?

I would think you have no chance, to be honest, but Berkeley is renowned for taking people who wouldn't be competitive at peer schools. At $12, why not give it a shot?

Sorry....I'd say you have no chance without at LEAST a 164-165 with that gpa. Boalt loves gpas so your LSAT score needs to be high

Berkeley doesn't do merit fee waivers... did you apply for a need-based one?

I also got an email from Boalt today, but it was general info and "invitation to apply". You sure you read correctly that they granted you a fee waiver, or did they say "We accept LSAC's fee waiver, but you may also qualify for our independent fee waiver program."?
Alternatively, do you have an LSAC fee waiver already? Because it seems like Boalt doesn't just give out fee waivers...

I got that email today too and was hoping for a fee waiver, but I don't think it said we get one. At the bottom of the email they said they accept LSAC's fee waiver program which I think means they only do need-based ones.

I paid full price and felt good doing it. Might have been the massive number of sour skittles I was consuming when I finalized my application however.

Yea dude I don't think you got the fee waiver. I got the invitation to apply email as well and I'm a urm with higher numbers (not trying to sound like a dick) generally I think it's a good sign. I know URM's in different masters programs going to Harvard and U of Chicago with numbers that wouldn't cut it. I think there's hope or us all to dream.

I emailed them today asking for a fee waiver and said they only do the need-based ones through LSAC...Guess I won't be applying to Boalt now.

I got the same email today. Im not a URM but pretty diverse. I have a 3.0 gpa 161 LSAT and a Grad gpa of 3.6. My undergrad degree is in Bioengineering and masters is in Molecular Medicine. I really think they send that letter out to everyone because I know I dont stand a shot
