What are realistic reach schools?

Post by bport hopeful » Wed Dec 08, 2010 4:39 pm

3.2/166

I know that not all schools take this into consideration but I am a double major double minor. I always thought that I would enjoy Pitt so I am applying there, but I don't know what reach schools I should consider.

Any help is appreciated.

not many details as for what you want location, job placement wise, what programs you're interested.

so i'd say, plug your numbers into: http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/

and choose those that look interesting that have <30% chance

Ok, here is the deal and maybe these specifics will help.
The reach schools I am looking at right now are BC, UNC, and Indiana.

I really don't have a solid idea of what area I would be interested in.

Also, I think that I should write an addendum for my GPA. My freshman year, I ended with a 2.7. Since I have had solid grades and have never had a semester below a 3.2 (only one was a 3.2). I have mostly landed in between a 3.4 and a 3.6 since. To me this seems significant since its a pretty considerable jump from a 2.7.

Along with any other advice, I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me if they think an addendum would be worth it.

I'd say only if you have a compelling reason for the 2.7.

Do you think this even with a lower GPA?

Hitting the median LSAT is always more important than hitting the median GPA, so these are all realistic but still reach schools. I'd bet you get into a couple of them, though it's hard to predict which ones.

Oh yeah, also forgot Emory, they take anyone with a 166 LSAT.

166 LSAT + splitter = enjoy Emory.
