Many of us have been in the scoop about this for awhile, thanks to all the reports and hearsay.
What are causes, though, of this drastic rise in LSAT-takers -- especially in light of the economic collapse, which has stricken the job market pretty harshly?
(List all the causes you can think of, if possible.)

Not sure if serious. If so...people are delaying seeking employment in this economy by going back to school. Including law school.

Which is absolutely STUPID. But I agree. This is most likely the cause - however misguided it may be.

Yeah it's not well thought out, but if you are only looking out for the short term, I see where they're coming from.

I don't think you can write 2009-
present when the October test had 10% less test takers. Clearly 2009 had a spike, but that's about it.

Meh, -10% variance from the previous year is still a 2nd all-time high since 1987. Keep it in perspective.

Still don't see why it is stupid to go back to school in a recession. It is pretty universally known as a good move (except if you are going to a shitty school, which is unrelated to the idea of going back to school in general)
