I'd throw a comma in there....

Why not just make it more clear by saying "XYZ is my top choice for both professional and personal reasons".

Then just say "XYZ law is also my top choice for personal reasons as well"

But if you wanted to go with the "not only" thing, I'd say "XYZ law is my top choice not only for professional reasons, but personal ones as well."

According to Merriam-Webster, both mean the same general thing. However, if you want to be more exact:

Collegial = teamwork, camaraderie, fellowship, etc.

Collegiate = college-related.

Collegial is the word you're looking for. Collegiate provides no descriptive value in the current context (of a why x letter).


XYZ School of Law is my top choice FOR not only professional COMMA but also personal reasons.

"for" should be before "not only," and there needs to be a comma before "but"


If you put "for" after "not only," then you need to say "not only for professional reasons, but also for personal ones."

As is, the sentence is grammatically incorrect due to its lack of parallelism.

The other suggestions are grammatically correct, but sound awkward IMO.
