I asked my advisor about a month ago if she would write a recommendation for me..explained to her that I wanted to apply within a month and that if she couldn't do it that was cool. She said she would gladly do it and that we would figure something out timewise. She was helpful at first, but I haven't heard from her since before thanksgiving, despite a few emails asking if she could meet. It's getting late and I want to start submitting applications. I've been out of school for two years, been working for 1.5 and have recommendations from my boss and from my supervisor. Should I bother waiting or just apply now? Will it really hurt not to have one from a professor?

I'd apply now - getting your apps in early is important.

If, and when, you get the LOR from your professor you can call the admissions offices at the schools you apply to and ask them to attach it to your application.

2 years is an iffy period of whether or not to have at least 1 academic LOR.

If your GPA is weak then it is probably more important that you have an academic LOR to help mitigate/place it in context a bit. I've been out of school for almost 4.5 years now, but I went with one academic LOR & one professional LOR because my GPA was so low. But ultimately your numbers are what matter most, and applying later definitely puts you at a disadvantage. So I would go ahead and submit now.
