I'm not sure which schools flat-out require them, but Michigan, Penn, and Duke are pretty tough to get into without writing a "Why X"

EDIT: Actually Penn requires writing one of the additional essays.

I'm interested in which of the T14 won't hold it against me if I don't write a why x?

Writing why Xs to HYS seems silly.

Man, so I have my reccs in, my transcript in, my resume done, and almost done with my PS. I should be preparing why x essays too? Can you begin apps individually without subimitting them on lsac to see what each school requires? So confused
