US Undergrad Student Applying to Australian Law Programs???

Post by margaritalv » Sun Nov 21, 2010 4:27 am

I'm getting ready to graduate from a US university with a BA in International Affairs, but I'd like to attend law school in Australia, which is the place of my birth. I'm a US resident alien, having lived here for almost 13 years, but I have retained my Australian citizenship. One of my points of confusion is that I'm not sure if that makes me a "local" student or an international ("American") student, which could affect the entire process, particularly in terms of applying for scholarships, etc. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, or could provide any insight on what it is like to receive multiple degrees from multiple countries. I'm especially interested in the University of Melbourne, but if anyone has any input on why I should look into other law schools (throughout Australia or even in America), I'd be glad to hear it. I'm interested in international law, with possible concentration in diplomacy or human rights. Any advice is appreciated!
