but many people who have scores in the middle still don't attend. i might attend for a full scholarship + stipend. id at least be as likely to attend as someone in their 75th.

you had the right idea - they probably figured you would never accept their acceptance.

YP, but just to be sure go over your entire application with a good eye. It's always possible that you made an error with grammar, misread the prompt of their personal statement, or did something to piss them off like write the schools name incorrectly... Better safe than sorry.

What school? Go to LSN and see if they YP. If so, you'll see that other ppl are waitlisted/dinged with your #s...

YP = yield protect = Waitlist because they knew you werent going to be attending their school. Submit a Why X and LOCI and they may let you in right after.

i made one grammatical error by accident in my PS.......i corrected it now, but will schools freak over one error they can clearly see i didn't make in the same context at other points? should i quickly edit it and send it to other schools i've applied to.

so if i got WL'd it's 100% because my #'s are too high?

nobody with my #'s applied last year. at least according to LSN.

u can PM me for the school. i have ethical issues with talking about an institution behind their back, and also don't want schools to know who i am till after the cycle.

1 guy got in with better #'s in 2008...only one who applied...that makes me worried.

They waitlisted you because they want you to persue them. They know that you are going to apply to a lot more schools, and know that in order for them to be competitive with other schools, they will have to shell out big bucks. They dont want to have this money on hold until March or april, when you inform that you're going else where.( and they lose some other canidates who would have taken less money).

If you want to continue this game, then play by their rules. Write a compelling loci, and try to convince them that although your numbers say otherwise, they are the number 1, 2, or 3 contender for your law school draft. Even if its bogus, just try to change their minds and perceptions about you. DOnt bring up money, or anything, try to sell them the school. ( why its such a good fit for you).

Its up to you. What do you want to do?

i did mention scholarships when asked if they should consider my app before my lsat score became available, asking that they wait.

idk that seems kind of dumb. why does this have to be like a courtship, and the schools have to be like girls. if ur too good looking, they make u prove u love them? that seems ridiculous.

it does. but theres only a certain amount of money that they can throw around ( and they have to consider it spent until they hear that they canidate is rejecting them), so they want to offer it to the best canidates that will accept it.

You opened the talks about scholarship money, so they know that they will have to offer you a pretty penny, or else you are going to turn them down. Now they want to see if you will take it, or just walk. ( im sure if you didnt, they would be willing to offer you some money, and simply hope for the best)

It may seem ridiculous but it makes sense. Why give up a spot to someone who is most likely applying to schools much higher up and probably going to get accepted? They know they're a safety so they waitlist you and see if you show interest. If you do then they were wrong and they'll let you in and if you don't they were right and didn't waste a spot on you.

+1. Stop freaking out. If you want to send them a very nice LOCI that would probably help your cause. You'll get in, and then you can leave it on your safety list. Don't overthink this.

Why mad? You wouldn't have gone there anyways.

oh, i am on hold -- not on waitlist...although i've never been put on a waitlist before so they might be the same. if i ran a school, i wouldn't use the word waitlist...seems elitist so they're prob the same.

this is interesting psychology into a guys mind. i cannot imagine thinking that if a guy was really attractive he would have to prove he loved me lol
