So I'm applying this cycle and I only need six credits in the spring to graduate. Due to the fact that I am already taking out loans for my undergraduate degree and that I am working on a thesis for my philosophy major, I thought I could save some money and devote more time to my thesis if I only just took the six credits. Do you think this will affect my chances at all?

If taking less classes enables you to boost your GPA, it will help your chances.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm taking classes in Individualized Fitness (3 credits to go to the gym), Ballroom Dance, and French 101 just to get to full time so I don't have to start repayments. I really doubt it will hurt you; obviously you got your business done early.

Keep in mind that you likely need to be a full-time student to receive any financial aid or loans, and that your existing loans' grace periods start when you drop below full-time status.

No, schools won't see your schedule or even your grades for spring semester.
