This. GPA is too low for the 15-17 and LSAT isn't high enough to get the splitter friendly T14s.2014 wrote:I have similar numbers now before my retake. Your odds of top 17 are pretty poor, but from USC down your chances are decent. If you want to label schools as reach for the hell of it, those would be UCLA, Cornell, and Berkeley, all of which have LSAT medians at 167/168, but I wouldn't plan on getting into anything above WUSTL.
It all depends on where you hope to work. Barring extremely strong ties to the area, a UCLA degree won't help you much if you want to end up in BostonPDL wrote:Just discovered TLS, what should be considered my "reach" schools?
UNC-Chapel Hill grad, 3.44 GPA
168 LSAT (third time, though. 159 in June of '08, 160 in Dec. of 2009)
White male
2 years work experience
Any responses are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Any schools you'd get into back East would have trouble sending you out West (and vice versa). You'll need to think long and hard about where you want to work, but if you think you can make a sound decision by the Spring, by all means, send applications to schools on both coasts.PDL wrote:Thanks!
I'd really like to either stay in the Southeast (I live in NC) or head out West. I'm submitting my UNC application tomorrow, and am going to try to get UGa and Emory in this weekend. Thoughts on these schools?
Where else would you suggest I look into? Thanks!
The South is pretty provincial, but Emory should set you up well for the markets you have connections too. And you'll get in. I also suggest applying for state schools in the states you want to work in. Plenty of them will toss money at your LSAT.PDL wrote:Thanks!
