Requesting Fee Waivers
Posted: Fri Nov 05, 2010 9:17 am
I know there has been some talk about this on here and I just wanted to share my experience with requested fee waivers to hopefully help some people. I saved a good amount of money by writing a simple e-mail to some schools admission offices that I was interested in.
The E-mail:
To Whom it May Concern,
In regards to applying to your school, I was wondering if XXX offered merit-based application fee waivers, and if so, if I would qualify for one. Please see my information below:
LSDAS GPA: 3.12
LSAT Score: 163
LSAC Account Number: L30110239
Thank you for your consideration as attending XXX would be a privilege that I am interested in exploring further.
Thank you,
Lisa
The Schools and Outcome:
Northeastern: Yes
Villanova: Yes
Seton Hall: Yes
St. Johns: Yes
University of Connecticut: Yes
Temple: Yes
In total I saved roughly $500 if not more considering I was going to apply to those schools anyway. The worst that could happen is they say no but as you can see, each school I wrote to said yes. Hope this saves some people money!
