Top Law Schools

Applying ED to Michigan today. Wrote the "Why Michigan/Why Me" essay. Wondering if I should bother writing a second supplemental essay, and if so, should I write one explaining why my low LSAT score isn't a good predictor of my possible success in law school?

I'm thinking I shouldn't bother, but let me know what you all think.

Agreed, if you can write a good essay. If you half-ass the essay it might hurt you.

Well, I definitely won't half ass it, and I hope it to be good when I finish it, because it for sure will be sincere, because I honestly do believe that my score isn't reflective of my capability to succeed.

Is this a flame? You really don't have much of a chance. You might want to look at places like St. John's, Brooklyn, Cardozo, Mich. State.

hes trolling you, and you do have a chance, even if small. I almost got into mich last cycle with 3.21/167 (top of the waitlist, but no spots opened up) and I highly suspect that if I hadn't spent time on my why mich essay, I would have been flat our rejected.

I usually hate it when people do this but....retake.

Even if you write an addendum about your LSAT score not being indicative of your abilities, I would think the AdComm's reaction would be "Okay, than take the test again and prove it."

I suspected so, but felt it decent to be polite, even on the internet. hah!

I know that I have a chance, and there are other factors too that I know aid in my chances. I my why Mich essay is very good I believe, and now I just gotta get to writing the LSAT one now.

Understandable that this could be a foreseeable reaction, but I'm not going to retake it this cycle, so I feel that this essay is the best option.

ED to UVA and you will get in. Don't waste the ED on Mich.

I'm planning on EDing UVA if I don't get into Mich. Since UVA has no deadline on ED, I'll ED right after I find out from Michigan on December 15 if I was not accepted.

It's not a waste if I can still ED UVA on Dec 15, right? I'm still planning on sending an RD app to UVA today, then updating it to ED if I don't get Mich.

+1. No point in EDing to one T10 when you can do two in the same cycle.

No worries, but thanks for your advice. I will definitely be looking at UVA if Michigan doesn't take me ED.
