Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?

I've always wondered if you could write a diversity statement about that :P

Depends on your numbers. If they're great, NU occasionally offers schollys to folks willing to defer a year.

i'd think anyone with those numbers would be better off just going to a higher ranked t-14 (and prob still get some $)

If you have a fee waiver and decent numbers, why not apply? It's only $12. Chances are you aren't getting in, but $12 isn't a lot to spend in my opinion.

true. But these schollys at NU are usually full rides. I think a handful of people take them every year judging by LSN and previous year's threads.

So even if you do get in without we, you have to defer a year?

Is that 1+ of FT?

So even if you do get in without we, you have to defer a year?
That is my understanding.

Thank you for your insight. Can anyone else confirm/deny this?

Yes, FT after grad. internships, etc. don't count.

Yes, the most recent class is 98% with 1+ years of full-time post-college work experience. The 2% straight out of college tend to have CCN-numbers and impressive internships.

There are a couple who just get in without having to defer.

Even if you were accepted, attending NW without WE seems like a risky idea. Do you really wanna be the only kid at OCI without prior full-time WE? Just a thought.

This would be kind of like arguing your 140 LSAT score would add to the diversity of LSAT scores at Harvard.

I know someone who got in last cycle without work experience (that didn't defer), but not only were there stellar numbers involved, he also had quantifiable leadership experience, internships, awards, and extracurricular activities that would be deemed as pretty decent softs even by TLS standards. Oh, and a masters degree + 2 bachelors in 4 years.

Moral of the story?

Apply. You never know what's going to happen.
Brb applying to HYS with my 150/2.2

What of professional work experience before you're done with undergrad? Would over 7 years of professional we that was done while you were going to school not count? I'm curious about this. I'm an oldie.

Northwestern says to only count the number of years of full-time work experience after your bachelor's degree.
