So probably not...Fresh wrote:3% of admits have 0 years we, 97% have 1+ yearsMcDeere wrote:Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?
I've always wondered if you could write a diversity statement about thatFresh wrote:3% of admits have 0 years we, 97% have 1+ yearsMcDeere wrote:Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?
i'd think anyone with those numbers would be better off just going to a higher ranked t-14 (and prob still get some $)homestyle28 wrote:Depends on your numbers. If they're great, NU occasionally offers schollys to folks willing to defer a year.
true. But these schollys at NU are usually full rides. I think a handful of people take them every year judging by LSN and previous year's threads.hellojd wrote:i'd think anyone with those numbers would be better off just going to a higher ranked t-14 (and prob still get some $)homestyle28 wrote:Depends on your numbers. So even if you do get in without we, you have to defer a year?homestyle28 wrote:Depends on your numbers. If they're great, NU occasionally offers schollys to folks willing to defer a year.
Is that 1+ of FT?Fresh wrote:3% of admits have 0 years we, 97% have 1+ yearsMcDeere wrote:Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?
That is my understanding.McDeere wrote:So even if you do get in without we, you have to defer a year?homestyle28 wrote:Depends on your numbers. If they're great, NU occasionally offers schollys to folks willing to defer a year.
Thank you for your insight. Can anyone else confirm/deny this?homestyle28 wrote:That is my understanding.McDeere wrote:So even if you do get in without we, you have to defer a year?homestyle28 wrote:Depends on your numbers. Yes, FT after grad. internships, etc. don't count.Hannibal wrote:Is that 1+ of FT?Fresh wrote:3% of admits have 0 years we, 97% have 1+ yearsMcDeere wrote:Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?
Yes, the most recent class is 98% with 1+ years of full-time post-college work experience. The 2% straight out of college tend to have CCN-numbers and impressive internships.Hannibal wrote:Is that 1+ of FT?Fresh wrote:3% of admits have 0 years we, 97% have 1+ yearsMcDeere wrote:Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?
There are a couple who just get in without having to defer.homestyle28 wrote:That is my understanding.McDeere wrote:So even if you do get in without we, you have to defer a year?homestyle28 wrote:Depends on your numbers. Hmm... Great point. The Gentleman wrote:Even if you were accepted, attending NW without WE seems like a risky idea. Do you really wanna be the only kid at OCI without prior full-time WE? Just a thought.
This would be kind of like arguing your 140 LSAT score would add to the diversity of LSAT scores at Harvard.Arbiter213 wrote:I've always wondered if you could write a diversity statement about thatFresh wrote:3% of admits have 0 years we, 97% have 1+ yearsMcDeere wrote:Is it even worth applying without any post-college work experience?

Brb applying to HYS with my 150/2.2thisiswater1488 wrote:I applied last year as a senior in college and got in with a deferral scholly. I was 100% expecting a rejection. I almost didn't apply because I know Northwestern weighs WE so heavily. I have good numbers, but not stellar. (see LSN.)
Moral of the story?
Apply. You never know what's going to happen.
