I am going to apply ED to UCLA and I was wondering if that means I will lose my chance at getting scholarshp money?

The general consensus is yes because they know that you will attend, so they have no reason to entice you with $$

Yes, though you can still qualify for need-based grants and loans.

Funny you should ask I took a tour of UCLA a few weeks ago which Dean Schwartz personally led (crazy right? How often does that happen?). He was very nice and very candid. Before my LSAT retake I was strongly considering EDing to UCLA and I asked him the same question - he basically said "if you would be a strong candidate RD who nevertheless for one reason or another is concerned about your chances and chooses to apply ED then there is a significant possibility that you will not only be accepted but receive some merit scholarships, maybe even greater then if you applied regular decision. The reason being that UCLA is concerned about the perception that early decision candidates don't receive consideration for merit scholarships and so the committee picks out a few to give $ to and you are competing with a different (I am assuming less qualified) pool then RD for those $." I was a little surprised by this answer.

Hey if you don't believe me reach out to the admissions office directly -from my experience they were incredibly acsessible.

This only applies if you have a good shot RD and choose ED to try to seal the deal because your heart is set on UCLA - if you are really reaching you aren't going to merit $ anyway

If you look last cycle on LSN, Penn also gave a few EDers $$

With your numbers, you'll be very lucky to be accepted at all, so you should plan on paying full sticker.

It seems like everyone assumes that if you ED, you won't receive money. This may or not be true, but we would never know, because most people that apply ED are below a school's medians and would not be eligible for a scholarship anyway. Many schools specifically say that they don't factor in your ED obligation when offering scholarships.
