Apply to some with Oct score & others with Dec?

Hey TLS,
This is my first post, but I've been reading you for months and really respect you as a source of information. I would love your opinion on this if you don't mind. I tried to search for it, but couldn't find a clear answer.
I took the October LSAT and got a 163. I was scoring between 167 and 173 on practice tests and am slightly disappointed with my score. Since my score isn't awful I am planning to apply now to schools I think I can get into and then apply to higher ranked schools after taking the December test.
My question is: Is it possible for the first set of schools to evaluate me with my October score without waiting until the December score comes out?
