My recommender mailed in my LOR on 10/20 from CT and faxed it on 10/28 it still has not been posted. Has everybody else been taking this long too? I really want to get my applications under consideration

both of mine took exactly a week snail-mailed from NYC.... the last one just came in today.
I'd say give LSAC a call?

Mine both took longer than two weeks (but there was a federal holiday involved). I called and was told that two weeks from the day they receive it (3-4 days after you send it out) is normal, especially when they're busy.

Did the professors include the signed form you printed? That's what happened with one of mine and they accepted it by fax. They updated it less than an hour later. Likely not the problem, but just in case I thought I'd mention it.

Neither of my LORs (one mailed 10/20, the other mailed 10/25 and faxed 10/28) has shown up. Both recommenders have written law school LORs before so I would be shocked if both forgot to include the waiver when I even reminded them to

That is surprising you guys' LORs haven't shown up yet. I think mine sent theirs by priority mail. They mailed them on Friday and then the letters were ready to use in my file on the following Tuesday and Wednesday.
Perhaps LSAC is also getting backed up as more and more LORs start to come in...

One of my recommenders mailed their lor on 9/30 and it hasn't shown up. They just mailed another one out on Saturday and over-nighted it. So I hope it posts this week. 3 of my apps are already complete and I'm hoping LSAC sends an updated report with the new lor.

I called LSAC this morning because I had a similar issue. I was informed that due to the LSAT release they are currently backlogged and that I should assume a wait of about a week to process, even for LORs that were faxed in.

Depends on the time etc.
I had one sent snail mail and show up about 4 days later. I had one sent overnight and it didn't show up for two weeks. I had one faxed yesterday morning and I'm still waiting on it.

I had the same problem, but it turns out that my LOR writer didn't sign on the right line for the paper that you print out and include with it. Reach out to your writer and see if they've received any correspondence from LSAC--LSAC will contact them with any questions before they contact you! LSAC will also send a confirmation to the writer a few days before it posts online.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Possibly a stupid question--but what is the procedure for faxing it in? What was the fax number that you used? I just checked the LSAT website and the LOR form, but they don't say much (just that they discourage faxing because it can distort the barcode). I'd prefer to fax it rather than wait while it's in the mail. And did anyone have problems with the barcode being distorted?

What now? The letter writers sign the barcode page? I thought we signed it, and they only have to sign the letter itself?
Been waiting more than a week for mine to show up. Getting anxious.

Has anybody had any luck with LORs being processed after the holiday? had a letter faxed last monday morning. I'd hate to ask my recommender again to re-fax her letter but it's crunch time.

Did LSAC show received but not processed?

I did not even know I can check the received status. I'll take a look right now.
EDIT: It just says 'Printed' as the status.

I had one mailed the Tuesday before last that still hasn't been processed. I've called them twice to check on the status and they're just telling to wait. At least there's nothing wrong with the letter, but I still don't know if it was lost in the mail or if the LSAC misfiled it.
Basically, you're not alone. I told my professor to fax it again today. We'll see.

One of mine was sent on 9/24 and did not show up until 11/3... I called LSAC a week before that, and they said it must have been lost in the mail. But then it suddenly appeared. Mysterious.

Wow. As I said, my professor faxed mine earlier today and it's already processed and on my account.
If you have access to your recommender and can get them to do this for you, definitely re-fax.
