Apply now, retake later?

Is it possible to register for the December LSAT (as a retake), then apply now to some schools with my current LSAT score and apply to more selective schools in January?
note: I am not interested in whether or not this is advisable, only if it is actually possible (i.e. will LSAC and law schools allow this?)

You're probably allowed to do that. I don't see why not.

the potential problem is probably that LSAC might not report my current score if i'm already registered for another test.

They report all the scores you have. Your file just gets updated with the new score if you retake the test.

Thanks.
edit: if anyone can confirm/deny this, please do.
